When your back is against the wall / the wall
Pressure gets real tall / the wall
Answer when it calls / the wall
Push it til it fall / the wall
Nose at the grindstone chippin away
Another day at the office ‘nother rat in the race
Poles got them stakes in the earth on the axis
Lordt give me strength, some salts and some flax seed
Safeguarding the center line / hawk feather I know my kind
Creating moments in all the right places / hold and lift steady the pace if the brick shifts
Real tings, dealing with human beings / policies, philosophies and their principalities
Brilliant resilient gems by the pound / light the way to launch above the roar of the hounds
When your back is against the wall / the wall
Pressure gets real tall / the wall
Answer when it calls / the wall
Push it til it fall / the wall
Air thick with all the violence / Walk in beauty talk in silence
Can’t close me in or throw me off of my mission/ Natives stay Free be the name, just listen
Charging plus and leaking bandwidth / A hike in tax and they spying on our families
Bust a burner hop partitions in the way / don’t be a sucker in a lose-lose game
Got to make the come up off a bad gestalt
Keeping it together when the bodies are sprawled
I know you just got here it’s not your fault
Pray tell what will you do when your backs against the wall?
When your back is against the wall / the wall
Pressure gets real tall / the wall
Answer when it calls / the wall
Push it til it fall / the wall

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
